The 2020 Discovery of Gold Special Envent Station had over 420 QSO's over two days.  Lots of Winter Field Day contacts were put in the log.  The weather on Saturday was excellent with lots of station visitors.  Sunday we had a little rain, first time in 18 years that it rained during the event.  The weather cleared up in the afternoon for another nice day.  Fewer vistiors on Sunday but lots of contacts.   We had some fun generator issues to overcome and a noise problem on 20m but still had fun and even got some DX in the log. See everone next year.

We had our annual club holiday dinner on Sunday, January 19th at Federated Church in Placerville. About fifty of the club members were able to attend the meal catered by Back 40 Texas BBQ.  We shared some desserts and had lots of good conversation and some lucy people went home with some prizes.  Thank you to all who attended.

On Saturday, November 23rd the club met to decorate a Christmas Tree to be displayed along Highway 50 in Placerville.  Each holiday season about 70 trees are decorated by clubs and individuals and are placed along the highway in Hangtown.  Our club's tree is in spot #10 counting up from the "Old Hangtown" sign as you enter Placerville from the West.  At night it should be blinking AG6AU in Morse code, thanks to Stefan AF6SA.  Also thanks to all the club members who came out to help decorate the tree.  The tree is decorated with silver and gold ribbon and bows and QSL cards from Bob W1RH and club patches.
